Today's weather is wonderful. The sun is shining, the fluffy clouds drift high in the sky, the birds are singing and twittering all through the neighborhood. It's peaceful and soothing. This is a good thing, because we are very tired of staying indoors. I've started the garden for this season, and hope that it will produce in bounty.

We have been sick. We might get a few days here and there where we have everyone finally healthy, but it only lasts about 48 hours before someone spikes a fever and cries about their throats of coughs. It has been this way since Thanksgiving. It is very frustrating, because no-one can get their work done, when they are lost in the brain fog of a cold (including me). Right now, the sick count is 4 of 7.
That means the healthy count is 3/7. This means I have most of my house walking around as zombies (moans, groans and bodily fluids!!) and the other half trying to find something fun and entertaining to do. No mom, chores are not fun or entertaining. Neither is entertaining the sick and fussy zombies. Hmmm. So I am finding fun things to do that don't destroy the house.
So far, I have let them paint on the back patio, water the yard, and swim in the tub. They've also played live Angry Birds, played on electronics, watched a show or two, and played on the swing set. I have more plans, I think they would have fun painting on the sliding glass door... and I can encourage 2 way play by putting one child on each side on the glass. We also made cookies. Cute ones, with little bunnies inside them. They did not last long though. :)

The cookies were a hit.

I had encouraged the children with the paint to create HotWheels roads, but they liked the idea of a scooter road instead. They really don't care that the back patio is too small to be riding scooters on. *shrug*
Well, I will close this off with a final picture, of my littlest one out playing in her outdoor kitchen. Hmm, it seems Godzilla paid her a visit. I'll have to reset that area after the mosquitoes are gone. You have a wonderful evening, and I will try to do the same :)
